You CAN have it all!
The biggest complaint against using a pad is that it reduces stability during your lift. With our unique, high density foam you can have comfort without sacrificing stability! It provides just the right amount of give to feel good on you, without being so squishy that you lose performance. Lift more weight, more often and get more results! No Pain, no Gain! (Right?) If you’re serious about your training, you have to lift some heavy weights.
Back squats, front squats, lunges and especially hip thrusts be brutally painful. Many people in the fitness industry say, “just suck it up, it’s supposed to be painful!” The honest truth is, it doesn’t have to be. Our unique cut away design helps to avoid unwanted pressure on the neck, spine or groin and allows us to add more protection to the places that need them. The velcro free enclosure is cleaner, quicker to take on and off and guaranteed not to slip. Our 18″x3.5″ pad will fit comfortably in your gym bag, and more importantly on any barbell, standard or olympic sized.
Whether your goals are strength, health and fitness or just purely aesthetic, let us help you achieve them, and do it in comfort.
Reviews of Next Gen. Barbell Squat Pad
Next Gen. Barbell Squat Pad Review 1: Perfect
If you are beginning with squats get this. It’ll take away the “the bar hurts my shoulders/neck” part of them and actually let you squat comfortably, which means you’ll keep at it. If you’ve been squatting for a while and you are going really heavy get this too it’s a life saver. Sometimes I would use the towel wrapped around the bar trick but it’s nothing compared to this. It’s super comfortable and actually stable. It is thicker than what the pictures let you to believe, when I opened it I thought it was going to get in my way because of its thickness but it doesn’t at all.
It actually helps me center the bar since the pad doesn’t slide and once you set it in the middle you know you are centered in the middle of the bar which helps balance the weight better. I was hesitant to buy it since all the reviews it had where from “discounted prices for reviews” purchase but it’s actually a really nice product.
Next Gen. Barbell Squat Pad Review 2: Works great…awesome protection
This pad is great! I worried it might be too thick, but it is “just right.” I love the indentation in the middle. It is easier to stay centered because of the indentation. I use this for back squats and glute bridges. This is, hands down, the best pad I’ve used or found for glute bridges. No more tender hips!
I rated it four instead of five stars as the pad will come off if you aren’t careful. Of you make sure to have the opening in the right place and not placed directly against your neck,it will stay on without any problem. The first time I tried using it, the bar rolled slightly as I was settling in to begin squats and the pad came right off. Once I figured out how to prevent that, it wasn’t a problem. I wouldn’t let this stop you from purchasing.
Next Gen. Barbell Squat Pad Review 3: I feel like I can squat more weight now without issues
I’m a bony guy and wanted to do squats. The pad at the gym was just too small and was causing me pain when I tried to squat. It was cutting off blood and my hands were going numb after a couple of squats. I got this pad and have only tried it once but all of my issues were gone. My hands weren’t going numb and my shoulders didn’t hurt anymore. I feel like I can squat more weight now without issues.
This is a very large pad for those that care. I don’t foresee any issues with it slipping off of the bar as it seemed to grip it fine when I used it. I had been worried about the arch for the neck being too little or too much but found that it was perfect and had no issues with it.
I’ve had this since September 21, 2016 and will update the review later if anything has changed or quality degraded.
