Review 1: Works well for me, serves its purpose respectably
I’m not a professional weight lifter, so I’m not pretending to really know my stuff here, but this chalk works great for me. It comes in a ziploc bag, which makes keeping it neat much easier. The block crumbles readily, which I like because I have about half of it intact, and the other half in dust in the bottom of the ziploc bag, which lets me rub my hands on the block for an initial coat and then scoop up some of the dust to fill in the cracks.
I mostly just use it on my deadlifts, although I may start taking it with me when I go rock climbing, since the free stuff at the rock climbing gym is kind of nasty.
Anyway, it’s been great so far, and I expect it to last me quite a while.
Review 2: Excellent chalk but…
This is an excellent and inexpensive chalk to use for anyone lifting weights. In fact, this is my first time using chalk to get a stronger grip on the bar and I would like to say that it has been very EFFECTIVE at keeping the barbell firm in my hands. The bar that I own is new and plated with chrome which makes it very difficult to lift higher amounts of weight when my palms become sweaty even with the knurling.
Throughout my workouts, I can feel a significant difference when I use the bar with and without the chalk.
The only issue I have with the chalk is that because it comes in a block form, it is hard for the chalk to rub off on my hands yet alone stick to them. However, I solved this problem by pulverizing the chalk in a Ziploc bag and since then, it has been working very effectively.
I would recommend this chalk for anyone who needs more grip strength when weight lifting because it is definitely effective and inexpensive compared to other chalks on the market.
Review 3: Does the job!
As far as chalk goes, this does the job! For a very fair price you will get plenty of uses from this block of chalk. No complaints, but I would recommend using a bowl or ziploc bag if you would like to keep your gym somewhat clean. It can get a little messy with (all) chalk. However, I use this primarily for my olympic rings in my garage, so get chalk on the floor isn’t a big deal. Not much else to say; it’s just as good as other chalk I have tried.
