Reviews of Black Diamond Chalk Shot Refillable
Review 1: The shot fits just fine in my bag
I’m not a pro at rock climbing or anything, but I do go to my indoor wall quite a bit. I also sweat A LOT, no matter what season it is. Climbing is nearly impossible for me without chalk. This was the first chalk I tried, and I don’t plan to change it.
The shot fits just fine in my bag, and it’s simple and easy to refill. I don’t have to keep my hand in there for ten minutes trying to chalk up and I don’t waste a bunch of chalk by smothering my hands in it, either. The chalk itself works really well for me.
Like I said, I sweat a lot, and despite that (and the fact that my gym’s wall has really long routes) I don’t have to chalk up over and over again on routes. I usually chalk up once before climbing and once near the top, if that. Sometimes, when I’m done climbing,
I go lift weights, and when I do, my hands never get slippery on the dumbbells or barbells. It’s great. I don’t have to chalk up again at all to lift. They’re just dry and it’s like a miracle to me, because I’m always a swampy mess when I exercise. Very pleased with it.
Review 2: Works as Advertised
Pros:
Minimizes Chalk Kickup
Convenient
Cons:
Slow Chalk Release
Thoughts:
It works as advertised. Used for hundreds of climbing and bouldering routes. Haven’t used this with lifting. Releases small amounts of chalk, so look elsewhere if you want more release. Comes loaded with chalk. The plastic bag is reusable, but you’ll should use a dedicated chalk bag.
The drawstring is decent — it’s holding up. Nothing really to write home about. There aren’t much other options for a refillable chalk shot.
Bottom Line: Recommended.
Review 3: Great Chalk Product for Weight Lifting
Works well! I keep it in a cheap sip-lock bag stored in my gym bag so it doesn’t get on my clothes, shoes, and other lifting gear. I simply take it out of the bag when I am about to lift and rub the ball into my hands.
Sadly my gym just banned the use of chalk…. so that sucks. But I would recommend it! Good chalk quality! It is the right stuff for lifting and will really help you increase your grip strength.
