Review 1: Great Dumbbell Set-exceeded this dumbbells expectations
Excellent weight set. This set does not take up a lot of space and it makes for a tidy area. Some other posts had previously complained about the rubber smell. I purchased this set because I wanted the rubber coating on the weights to protect the floor in case of accidental dropping. And new rubber smells….like rubber?
Just like new tires do-but it does dissipate rather quickly, just like the new tire smell dissipates quickly. I highly recommend. It makes a nice addition to my Bow Flex and also Bow Flex tread climber machines. With the wall mounted 55″ TV, surround sound and equipment-working out is very relaxing, peaceful and rewarding.
Review 2: Great Product
great product. met my expectations, delivered on schedule, no real rubber smell as others seem to indicate. Using dumbells, I find are much easier than other free weights since it is easier to simply switch to a different weight quickly.
Review 3: Hidden Costs
I would have given this product 5 stars if they had actually disclosed that it is virtually impossible to forego professional assembly (which is an additional $107). I was able to build the system myself but no where in the instructions (online or in the manual) did it specify that professional power tools were necessary to tighten all the bolts. It had to be an impact driver. I literally had to pay someone to come out and tighten the bolts as I do not own power tools.
